If you are injured and your insurance company does not cover your healthcare costs, it can put you in a complicated financial situation. You still need medical attention, so you will end up having to pay for it yourself while you file a court case to get the insurance company to pay their dues. During this time, you can get an attorney to write you a letter of protection (LOP), which is given to a doctor who will provide you medical care. As your doctor, we will honor the LOP, provide you with the necessary treatment, and will wait for the court proceedings to finish to collect the dues. This way, you will never have to postpone getting necessary medical care. An LOP can be a real lifesaver when you need medical care but don't yet have the funds to pay for it.
If you have ever felt back pain after strenuous exercise or a hard day at work, you are not alone. Back pain is one of the most common chronic pain complaints received by providers. Nearly eight out of ten people suffer from some kind of back pain in their life.
Back pain can range from a dull pain that comes and goes to sharp localized pain. There are two types of back pain – acute and chronic. With acute back pain, the pain originates from sudden movement and can last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Back pain is referred to as chronic when the pain lasts for more than three months.
Many forms of back pain resolve on their own over the course of a few days. However, if rest makes your back pain worse, it is likely that resting alone will not be able to resolve your health issue. In this case, you must contact a medical doctor.
At Nexus Pain Care, we provide treatment of numerous diseases and give our patients the relief they deserve. Some of the many back pains and illnesses we diagnose and provide treatment for are:
- Spinal Stenosis – This happens when the spine starts to become compressed by the narrowing lumen or space through which your nerves pass.
- Pinched Nerves – When nerves in the back become compressed by soft tissues surrounding it.
- Herniated Discs – This happens when a disc between vertebrae in the spine starts bulging outwards.
- Sciatica – A radiating pain in the lower back that travels down one leg – caused by compression of the sciatic nerve in the back.
- Post-Laminectomy Syndrome – A persistent pain felt after an operation on or near the back
Occasional neck pain is usually not a concerning issue. However, if it is accompanied by pain or numbness down one or both of your arms, it should be brought to the attention of your provider. Neck pain symptoms can manifest as:
- Pain that becomes worse when the head is stationary for a long period of time
- Muscle spasms and rigidity
- Head does not move as freely
- A persistent headache
At Nexus Pain Care, we provide treatment for numerous diseases and deliver the relief our patients deserve. Some of the many forms of neck pain and illnesses we diagnose and provide treatment for are:
- Sciatica – A radiating pain in the lower back that travels down one leg – caused by compression of the sciatic nerve in the back.
- Post-Laminectomy Syndrome – A persistent pain felt in the aftermath of an operation on or near your neck.
Neck pain is often associated with prolonged habits that are bad for your neck. If an excess of these behaviors is not minimized, it can easily lead to neck strain and pain.
If neck pain becomes unbearable, you may need to seek treatment. To determine which test to perform, your doctor will first assess your medical history and perform a physical exam. They will check for numbness, tenderness, and weakness. They will also look at your range of motion. Further testing may also be required, such as X-rays, MRI/CT scans, blood tests, bone scans, and EMGs.
Joint pain is extremely common, and people of all ages experience it. Joint pain refers to pain symptoms experienced in between two bones, particularly when moving. Your body has many joints, such as your knees, hips, and shoulders. You may even feel pain in smaller joints, such as your wrists, ankles, and finger joints. Pain in your joints can be occasional, most often caused by an injury, or chronic, most often caused by degenerative diseases like arthritis. The type of pain you experience can vary, often depending on the particular cause. Signs and symptoms include joints that are stiff, sore, swollen, or aching, with reduced flexibility.
Joint pain can greatly affect your quality of life. Unfortunately, chronic joint pain is most often progressive, which means treatment must be increased as time goes by to have the same level of pain relief. Nexus Pain Care can provide you with state-of-the-art treatments that provide effective relief. We will continue to monitor your symptoms and update your treatment plan according to your needs. There is no reason why joint pain should stop you from living a full, active, and worthwhile life.
At Nexus Pain Care, we offer treatment for numerous diseases and provide patients the relief they deserve. Some of the many joint pain issues we treat are:
- Osteoarthritis – When cartilage wears down, the bones meeting at the joint can rub against each other, causing pain that is likely to be progressive in nature.
- Rheumatoid Arthritis – A chronic condition that causes swelling and pain in all joints but most commonly affects the fingers.
- Gout – Crystallized uric acid gets lodged in joints, most commonly in the big toe joint, causing severe pain.
- Bursitis – Pain caused by overuse of a certain part of the body.
- Tendonitis – Inflammation of tendons that causes pain in nearby joints.
- Infections – Viral infections are known to cause painful joints throughout the body.
